The idea took shape through the selection and collection of headlines, articles, posts, memes and photographs from the public debate. Testimonies that capture, in their grotesque or tragic dimension, the climate of the first two years of the so-called “fanta-pandemic”.

The work, available in 10 different variations, is a large collage of more than 15,000 digital files which, arranged by colour, act as pixels and form a series of symbolic images representing the collective madness we went through.

Only by remembering can we forgive

The more they told you to respect the dead, the clearer it became that true respect meant trying to understand what was really happening: how the dead had actually died.

Few spoke out from the very beginning, experiencing prejudice, humiliation and exclusion first-hand. And today those who keep talking about it, asking questions, demanding accountability, are dismissed as bitter. As if remembering were a fault.

Forgetting is easier than admitting we were deceived. The human ego can deny anything to its own conscience rather than question itself. But forgetting does not erase what happened.

For those who lived through those years, owning one of these works is a way to say with pride “I was there”: a testimony, a declaration of belonging, proof of not having forgotten.

the prize for those who did not stay silent

The “Quarto Reich” NFT can be bought for 1,000 euros, but it may also be given free of charge to anyone who shows, through a link, that they challenged or questioned the official narrative with a social media post. Requests will be assessed by the collective, while the NFTs set aside for the prize last.

It is a way to pay tribute to those who tried to tell the truth: a prize for the courage not to stay silent, giving tangible value to the information work that so many ordinary people have been doing for free for years. A concrete recognition of ethical behaviour.

VALUE

The collection consists of 100,000 NFTs: 10 different works, each in 10,000 copies.

The “Quarto Reich” has a fixed price of 1,000 euros. The other nine works start at 20 euros and rise by 10 euros for every 10,000 NFTs sold (excluding the Quarto Reich), up to a maximum of 100 euros.

Once the first 20,000 NFTs have been sold, part of the proceeds will be used to print the works on large billboards (10×6 metres) to be displayed in Italy’s main cities.

NEW NFT

Anyone who provides a testimony post of their own, published during the two years of the fanta-pandemic, will be asked for a release to use it in the creation of a new NFT made up of all the posts collected.

The new NFT will be a separate work, independent of the 100,000 NFTs of LA SCIENZAH, with an edition of 40,000 pieces: 20,000 will be given free of charge to those who provided the posts.
